A. Secure messaging is available within the MHS Genesis Patient Portal. If you do not have a Common Access Card (CAC) or MyPay account, you will need to create a free DS Logon to access the Patient Portal. To register for a free DS Logon, visit https://dmdc.osd.mil/milconnect. Once you have created your account, please select "Upgrade to Premium Account" to access the MHS Genesis Patient Portal.

A. Call 888-683-2773 6:30 a.m. to 4: p.m. or send your provider a secure message through the MHS Genesis Patient Portal requesting an appointment. At this time, patients enrolled at MTFs in Hawaii are unable to book appointments directly through MHS Genesis. We are also unable to schedule, change, or cancel appointments through Facebook, Instagram, or Google Messages.

A. If your child has had a physical examination within the past year we may be able to assist you without making another appointment. Please send us a secure message through the MHS Genesis Patient Portal.

Preparing for your visit:
1.Please plan to arrive 15 minutes before your appointment to find parking and fill out any necessary paperwork.
2.Patients more than 10 minutes late for a scheduled appointment may have to reschedule or wait for the next available appointment with a provider.
3.All patients age 14 and older are required to show an ID at the time of check in

A. For Body Composition Analysis:  2 hour fast from all food, drink (water included) and exercise
A. For Metabolic and Fitness Testing:  5 hour fast from all food, drink, moderate exercise, gum, mints, candy, caffeine and tobacco. Water is allowed. 14 hour fast from vigorous exercise.

A. For Body Composition Analysis: Ensure you have spandex compression shorts (separate from your pt shorts) and a sports bra for females.

A. Active Duty Soldiers can walk-in to the clinic for individual hearing protection. Earplugs require fitting, so we only issue it to the person who will be using it. A. No, we provide walk- in services.

A. No, we are not an Emergency Room. If you are concerned about a life- threatening condition (excessive bleeding, seizures, constantly ‘passing out’, stroke, heart attack, poisoning or others), please go to the closest Emergency Room or call 911.

A. Headaches, fever, flu symptoms, eye infections, colds/ congestion, coughs, sore throats, ear infections, recent musculoskeletal injuries, urinary tract infections, minor lacerations, toenail removals, skin infections, rash, abdominal pain, diarrhea, constipation, nausea, and vomiting.

A. No, we instruct patients to follow up with their Primary Care Provider in the Patient Centered Medical Home/ Soldier Centered Medical Home on base or their preferred Primary Care Provider off- post.

A. Please visit your Primary Care Provider or visit the Family Immunization Clinic (BLDG F, 808-433-8129) to update your vaccination records.

A. The ACC does not refill pain medications (except Motrin or Tylenol), behavioral health medications (Adderall, Ambien, Zoloft, etc), or other medications that require close follow up. Please contact your Primary Care Provider or Psychiatrist for refills or go to the Emergency Room. The ACC can refill up to 10 days of chronic medications for chronic conditions such as, but not limited to, asthma, diabetes, hypertension and hyperlipidemia.
 

A. We strongly recommend you contact your Primary Care Provider regarding lost or missing medications. A. The ACC primarily manages acute symptoms. Please contact your Primary Care Provider for continuity of care of routine health needs or concerns.

A. We instruct patients to quarantine themselves for 14 days, and their families, if they are concerned about possibly having the Corona virus. They should contact their Primary Care Provider or call the COVID Hotline between Monday - Friday, 6:30 a.m. - 4 p.m., at 888-683-2778, OPTION 8.

A. Every member of the Desmond T. Doss Health Clinic strives to provide quality and excellent health care and may not have recognized the patient’s concern. We highly encourage patients to return to the clinic they were seen at and verbally inform them of their concerns in order for continuity of care and to clear any misunderstandings.

A. Please refer to your Primary Care Provider for consults you want renewed or request for continuity of care and appropriate management. 

A. We highly recommend you contact your Primary Care Provider or visit the Multidisciplinary Health Clinic for Service members at DDHC (BLDG K, 808-433-8887) or the Child and Family Behavioral Health Services (CAFBHS) for family members at DDHC (BLDG L, 808-433-8140). If you feel suicidal, homicidal or having suicidal/ homicidal ideations, please contact 911 or call the National Suicide Prevention Hotline (800-273-8255) or the Military Crisis Line (800-273-8255).

A. Yes. The ACC recognizes that access can be an issue during certain times and we are happy to serve.

A. Please contact the provider or clinic where you were seen for these notes.

A. The ACC cannot renew profiles. Please follow up with your Primary Care Provider.

A. We highly encourage and instruct all beneficiaries to follow up with their Primary Care Provider after visiting the ACC because we want to ensure continuity of care, awareness, and re-evaluation of their condition by their Primary Care Provider. We also recognize that patients know their current symptoms and how it affects their bodies. If they need to, we highly encourage patients to visit the Emergency Room if there were further concerns or a worsening condition on the day of or after an ACC visit.

A. You can get a copy through the Patient Administration Department or PAD Office in the 1^st floor of BLDG E across from the Pharmacy. You can also look at all your documented encounter, x-ray and laboratory results in your MHS GENESIS Patient Portal. Please give at least 24 to 48 hours to check.

A. There are Interactive Customer Evaluation (ICE) comment cards in the clinic that you could drop off anonymously in our ICE comment box along the hallway. You could also fill out a comment card online at https://ice.disa.mil. Another option is to fill out the Joint Outpatient Experience Survey (JOES) that will come to you in the mail. We highly encourage patients to fill one or both of these surveys in order to improve the patient experience in the ACC.

A. It is assessment/treatment focused to prevent future incidents of domestic violence and child maltreatment.

A. FAP is not the same as CPS, depending on the referrals and severity of the case/situation CPS will work in conjunction with FAP and/or refer the case to FAP

A. Your information is confidential where request for copies of the FAP record must go through a more stringent screening process prior to release to patients and other agencies. The exception is with agencies such as CID and Military lawyers, where they will get copies of the FAP records based on specific FAP related incidents/referrals and the timeframe being requested.

A. IDC is not a legal board, but an administrative board to determine if the referral and incidents Meet Criteria or Do Not Meet Criteria based on all relevant information shared during the IDC with the goal of treatment and prevention of future incidents. UCMJ actions cannot be taken based solely on the involvement of FAP and the IDC outcomes.

A. Generally, no, unless there are safety concerns/jeopardy to mission that required the provider to contact them or Command referred you to FAP.  Command communication will be discussed in your first appointment.  Commands are aware of all unrestricted reports that are being assessed

Walk-in Services
All behavior health offer walk-in services from 0730-1630 M-F (except Thursdays 1200-1500 when closed for training). After clinics close at 1630 M-F., patients having urgent behavioral health needs must go to the Tripler Army Medical Center Emergency Department.    Phone number to Emergency Department 808-433-3710/5700

A. Presently DDHC does not, however the Radiology department has initiated discussions on a 3D unit. Our mammographer has been fully certified and trained on both 2D and a 3D mammography units.

A. While a mammogram does use radiation, it is a very small amount and is within the medical guidelines. Because mammography is a screening tool, it is highly regulated by the FDA, Mammography Quality and Standards Act and the American College of Radiology (ACR). A mammogram is safe as long as the facility you go is certified by the regulating agencies. There is constant background radiation in the world that we are exposed to every day. The radiation dose of a mammogram is equal to about two months of background radiation for the average woman.

A. The ACR and the American Cancer Society recommends annual screening mammogram for all women over 40, regardless of symptoms or family history.

A. Mammogram is detection, not prevention. Having a normal mammogram is great news, but it does not guarantee that future mammograms will be normal. Having a mammogram every year increases the chance of detecting the cancer when it is small and when it is most easily treated which also improves survival.

A. The Automated Neuropsychological Assessment Metrics (ANAM) is a series of computer-based tests of cognitive domains including attention, concentration, reaction time, memory, processing speed, and decision-making.  The results of the ANAM provides healthcare staff with data to evaluate an individual's change in cognitive functioning over time.

A. The standard ANAM battery used by the U.S. Department of Defense takes approximately 20 minutes to administer.  Please allow 45 minutes to complete your appointment.
 

A.  All Services members are required to complete their pre-deployment ANAM within 12 months prior to deployment. This assessment is a mandatory requirement.

A. ANAM software provides an almost limitless number of alternative forms and combinations to facilitate repeated-measures testing.

A. ANAM pre-deployment testing is not a diagnostic tool and is not used to determine if a Service Member is deployable or non-deployable.

A. ANAM assessment results are considered protected health information and are placed in your electronic medical record.  The assessment results will be securely stored electronically in accordance with the Privacy Act of 1974 and the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) of 1996.

A. Patients can be referred by their primary care or other specialty provider.   Please call our clinic for assistance at 433-8199 if you have been referred to the Brain Injury Clinic, need to be referred, or would like to know about same day access. 

A. Your primary care manager (PCM) will determine if your injury is appropriate for Chiropractic services. Once your PCM places the referral you should receive a call from our Chiropractic team within 48-72 hours. If you do not receive a phone call in that time frame, then please call the Chiropractic Medical Support Assistant front desk @ 808-433-8313

A. It is recommended that you wear civilian or military PTs to your appointment.

A. After your evaluation, you and your Chiropractor will determine the number of times you will need to be seen. The extent and seriousness of your injury will be a primary consideration for determining the amount of treatment you will need. On average, we see clients for 10 visits.

A. The initial evaluation will last approximately 60 minutes depending upon the complexity of the case. Follow-up appointments typically vary in length, and are dependent upon the type of injury and the level of rehabilitation that is required. Usually the average follow-up appointment will typically last 15 minutes and occasionally longer if necessary.

A. How quickly you recover is determined by many factors unique to you. These factors include the extent of the injury, how long you have had the injury, your nutritional habits, your emotional state, and the amount of sleep and recovery you get each night. We will review these factors with you when you come in for your evaluation. Your body’s response to joint manipulation will also help us to estimate how long it could take for you to regain function

A. Each patient is ultimately responsible for their success in their program. Your Chiropractor cannot do it without you! We can provide you with the tools to recover but we ask that all patients and clients cooperate by following through with their home exercise programs and self-care instructions.

• If you have to reschedule an appointment, please call us at least 24 hours before your appointment.
• If you will be late, please call and we'll see if you will still be able to receive your treatment as scheduled.
• Missed appointments are highly discouraged and become part of your medical record. Multiple missed visits will result in discharge from care, with a note to your PCM.

A. The Occupational Therapy Clinic is a referral clinic only. Please see your Primary Care Provider to receive a consult for Occupational Therapy services. Call the Occupational Therapy Clinic at 808-433-8011 between the hours of 7:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. once your consult has been entered into the system by your Primary Care Provider.

Please do not wear any restrictive clothing on your upper body or upper extremity to allow an appropriate assessment.

A. Your primary care manager (PCM) will determine if your injury is appropriate for physical therapy. Once your PCM places the referral you should receive a call from the physical therapy team within 72 hours. If you do not receive a phone call in that time frame, then please call the appointment hotline or visit our office.

A. It is recommended that you wear appropriate civilian gym attire with closed toed shoes or military PTs to your appointment. If you have a low back, hip or knee injury, please wear shorts. We have private restrooms that you can use as a changing room as needed.

A. After your evaluation, you and your therapist will determine the number of times you will need to be seen. The extent and seriousness of your injury will be a primary consideration for determining the number and type of appointments you will need.

A. The initial evaluation will last approximately 30-45 minutes depending upon the complexity of the case. Follow-up appointments typically vary in length, and are dependent upon the type of injury and the level of rehabilitation that is required. Usually the average follow-up appointment will typically last 30 minutes and occasionally longer if necessary.

A. How quickly you recover is determined by many factors unique to you. These factors include the extent of the injury or surgery, how long you have had the injury, your nutritional habits, your emotional state, your genetic predisposition and other factors. We will review these factors with you when you come in for your evaluation.

A. Each patient is ultimately responsible for the success of their rehabilitation program. Your physical therapist cannot do it without you! We can provide you with the tools to recover but we ask that all patients and clients cooperate by following through with their home exercise programs and instructions. Your recovery is greatly dependent upon your compliance with your Physical Therapy program.

Each chain of command may have a policy related to no-shows in addition to the clinic policy.

A. Only active duty service members can be treated at SBDC.  Family members are encouraged to enroll in the TRICARE Dental Program at https://www.tricare.mil/CoveredServices/Dental

A. Routine eye exams are not required annually to order glasses. Military eyeglasses and inserts can be ordered up to 2 years off a valid prescription. We recommend a routine eye exam every 24 months unless otherwise directed by your eye doctor.

A. Optometry is self-referral.  You do not need a referral to be seen at Optometry. Retirees and Family members can go to www.tricare.mil/finddoctor to find a provider in your area.   Or call 1-844-866-9378 to speak to a representative.

A. Contact lenses are not a TRICARE covered benefit. Our contact lens policy is a courtesy program to our patients and subject to availability and readiness requirements.  If you are interested in or wear contacts, please discuss fitting or renewal options with your eye care provider during your routine eye exam, we may be able to accommodate you.

A. MEDPROS is a unit function- regardless if you wear glasses or not, annual vision screenings for MEDPROS can be done at your unit aid station or SCMH.

A. Yes, but you must have the patients ID card or an authorization form completed and signed by the patient with a copy of the front and back of their ID card attached.
*Please Note: A picture of an ID card on an electronic device does not meet this requirement.

A. When the patient is 15 years or older, due to the patient’s right to privacy of their prescription records IAW AR 40-3 and AR 40-66.
When the patient has dual military parents and the child is in the spouse’s profile. (A child that has dual military parents is authorized to have his or her own ID card regardless of age)

A. When a prescription is called-in it is filled and ready for pick-up on the following business day at the refill pharmacy. In the event you require a same day refill, please do not call the refill line and instead bring your empty prescription container with you to the Main Pharmacy. 

A. The Pharmacy maintains a stock of medication approved by the Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee. 
 

A. Yes and please allow 72 hours for the transfer to take place. In some instances prescriptions may not be able to be transferred, due to the medication not being on formulary or if the prescription is a controlled substance. This is due to state laws and medication on the formulary decided by the Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee.

A. Make an appointment with your PCM. Your PCM can perform the exam, or give you a referral for our clinic.  

A. Contact your medical home via secure messaging or phone and an RN will contact you with further instructions to include ordering your pregnancy test, pre natal vitamins, and placing a referral with the OB clinic.  Then come to Women’s Health to pick up an OB Registration packet this must be completed and submitted BEFORE your first appointment. Once your referral is approved you will receive a call to schedule your telephone appointment for OB Registration.

A. Our providers rotate through the OBGYN clinics and Labor and Delivery. We try our best to maintain continuity but we do not manage the providers’ rotations. 

A. The top of the prescription has the instructions, or you can find instructions on the Tricare website.  

A. We do not have access to profiles, please see your PCM for profile updates. 

A. Because of our rotating providers, they do not see their messages frequently enough to keep up with the demand. If you have acute care questions, you should go into the Same Day Evaluation Clinic at TAMC (under 20 weeks) or Labor and Delivery Triage (over 20 weeks). If it is for medication refills, you can call the OBGYN advice nurse at 808-433-1501.  

A. Not at this time. The only exception is children under 2 months. We highly encourage video chat during appointments for significant others.  

A. We do not perform walk in blood pressure checks. You can visit your primary care clinic. 

A. We are trying to reduce exposure to Covid. We are recommending telephone appointments for 16 and 24 weeks for low risk patients. The anatomy scan is done in place of the 20 week appointment.

A. A Soldier Centered Medical Home (SCMH) is the Soldier's version of a PCMH which provides 90% of all Soldier care on site and is the same as all other PCMHs except SCMH's have integrated medical staff from line units and Military Treatment Facilities to make up a full team. It also has augmented behavioral health and physical therapy.
 
Soldiers receive dedicated Soldier care in their Area of Operation (AO), increased physical therapy services, dedicated Behavioral Health, pharmacy and dietitian services, improved care coordination, internal case management services, expanded ancillary care (pharmacy, radiology, and lab), improved medical readiness, and decreased ER utilization.
 
SCMH supports the military’s unique mission and understands the challenges facing Active Duty Soldiers. At SCMH we provide patient-centered, coordinated team-based care to each Soldier with the goal of improving our Soldier population’s overall health and well-being to support a medically ready force – for healthier, stronger, and more resilient Soldiers.

A.  Your SCMH care team includes a Primary Care Manager (PCM) – a Physician, Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner – as well as a Nurse (RN and LPN), Medic, Health Technician, Medical Support Assistant (clerk), Pharmacist, Case Manager, Dietician, Behavioral Health Specialist, and Physical Therapist.

A.  A PCM is the leader of your medical home care team. Your PCM is responsible for organizing, coordinating, communicating and monitoring your care across multiple settings with specialty providers and support staff.
 
Seeing your PCM at every visit is important to establish the provider-patient relationship that is the cornerstone of patient centered care. We will make every effort to give you appointments with your PCM. If for some reason your PCM is not available, we will schedule you with another provider within your medical home team who will have access to your medical record and provide continuity of care.

A.  •Your team will have appointments available to meet your needs. You can reach your team in person, by phone, and through secure messaging.
•Your team will assist in coordinating specialty appointments.
•Your health information will be documented in an electronic medical record to ensure all team members and specialists have convenient access to your medical information.
•Your team will help you identify realistic health goals and help you achieve those goals by providing self-management tools and support.
•Your team will provide you with self-care health information, and will assist you with early recognition of potential health problems and prevention of chronic disease.

A.  Take an active role in decisions and activities affecting your health:
 
•Talk with your health care team, ask questions and share your successes and the concerns in taking care of your health.
•Keep your team informed of all health care visits to specialists, dentists and emergency rooms (ER), and let them know if you are admitted to the hospital.
•Make sure you understand your plan of care and develop SMART self-management goals.
•Tell them what medications you are taking.
•Work with your team to maintain or meet your optimum level of wellness.
•Speak up — tell your team what is not working well and what is causing problems.
•Make sure your contact information is up to date in our system.
•Let your team know how they are doing, in person or by completing surveys.
•If you’re unable to keep an appointment, please call your clinic at least 24 hours in advance so we may offer the appointment to another Soldier.

A.  There are multiple ways to receive care in the way that works best for you. Although some health needs require a face-to-face appointment, many things can be conveniently addressed using technology (virtual healthcare).
 
•Face to face appointments: You can schedule an appointment for a same day issue or in the future with your Primary Care Manager (PCM). If you need to be seen during a time when your PCM isn't available, we'll get you in to see one of the providers on your team.
•TRICARE Online Patient Portal allows you to contact your care team via secure messaging and view your own health record through the web. Use TOL to schedule appointments, request prescription refills, and view your test results.
Nurse Advice Line: You can speak to a Registered Nurse if you are unsure whether to seek care for a health condition. The NAL Nurse can help determine if and when you should see a doctor.

A.  •Please ask to speak to the clinic NCOIC or OIC. Our trained staff is ready to assist and address your concerns right away.
•If you do not feel comfortable talking with our staff, you can place an Interactive Customer Evaluation (ICE) Comment online at https://www.ice.disa.mil/. For location, type “Schofield Barracks,” click on “Health,” then choose the appropriate SCMH clinic.
•You may receive a patient satisfaction survey called Joint Outpatient Experience Survey (JOES). This survey is used to gauge the performance of all Military Treatment Facilities. Your feedback, positive or negative, is instrumental in identifying areas of strengths and weaknesses to better serve you.

A.  The team will help you coordinate your appointments with your PCM or other members of the team at each visit.
•Providers will review your medical records prior to the visit to ascertain if test results and specialty reports are available during your visit.
•The team will coordinate care with specialists if needed.
•Your provider may offer education on wellness and health promotion and remind you of visits and age-appropriate wellness screenings.
•The team may inform you if it can meet your needs over the phone or through secure messaging instead of having you come into the clinic.
•Your team is able to provide a list of your current medications and written education materials.
•Your providers may also remind you of military health care readiness requirements such as Periodic Health Assessment.

A.  •Bring your military identification cards with you to your appointment.
•Make a list of your health questions and bring it to your appointment.
•Let your team know if you will need a language interpreter or require special accommodations during the visit.
•Make a list of other health care providers you’ve seen and bring it to your appointment. Include names, addresses, phone numbers, and the reasons you visited.
•Set up appointments with other team members such as a pharmacist, registered nurse, behavioral health specialist, or dietician if needed. Remember, these experts are here to serve you.
•Take a list of all of your medicines to every appointment. Be sure to include prescription, over-the-counter, natural, and herbal medicines and vitamins. This list is especially important if you or your family members are being seen by any other health care provider outside of your clinic.
•Complete any test results (e.g., blood tests, X-rays, MRIs) ordered by your PCM prior to your next appointment
•During your appointment:

A: Please speak with your PCM to get a referral to Tripler's Allergy/Immunology clinic so proper testing can be done.  Upon the physicians decision to start you on allergy shots we can house the vials here and administer them to you on a walk in basis.  

A: Please visit your AKO and check your medical readiness portal. Under the indicators click on immunizations and it will let you know what it is you are red on. If it is a routine immunization, feel free to walk in or call our front desk (808-433-8800) if you have any questions. If it is red for HIV please visit our LAB on the 2^nd floor BLDG H.

A. For such events as a flu drive, anthrax rodeo or typhoid rodeo, please call 808-433-8801.

No, per MEDCOM guidance Regional Medical Commands will ensure the MTFs do not allow Service Members and their dependents to hand-carry their medical records, to include CONUS and OCONUS permanent change of station (PCS). Service Members who require a copy of their record, or a portion of their record (i.e., a specific encounter or diagnostic result) for a medical appointment will be provided a copy.

A. The DDHC will not refuse patients care but you will have to go to the Family Practice Medical Records front desk and fill out the Certificate of Eligibility. With the certificate you have 30 days to return your ID card and presented to the medical records staff or your sponsor will be billed for medical care and any prescription for that appointment.

This action takes place between the Family Travel Offices as they provide the Official travel response.  Communicate with your local Family Travel Office and they should be checking on the status.

Have your family members schedule an appointment with their primary care provider and have them complete a new DD form 2792.  Review the document once completed, sign pages 2 and 3 block 9a-c.  Ensure DEMOGRAPHICS on page 3 is also completed.
Additionally, it is important that all previously documented diagnosis are addressed on the update.  If resolved then it should note as such.
Submit to your local EFMP office to complete update.

Please contact your child’s school or the school in your area and they can assist with the DD form 2792-1.  For children 3 and older and Individual Educational Plan (IEP) will also be required.  If under 3 contact the Early Intervention Services and they can assist with an Individual Family Support Plan (IFSP).

Schedule an appointment with your family member's Primary Care Manager and complete a new DD form 2792. Review the document once complete. When you have confirmed the document is correct, sign page 2 and page 3, blocks 9 a-c. You must complete page 3. At the appointment, speak with the provider about your desire to disenroll from EFMP. If your provider recommends disenrollment, submit the forms to the EFMP office. The EFMP office will ensure the request is in compliance with AR 608-75.

 

Family Travel denials occur when the screening location upon review of a family members medical conditions and / or requirements exceed the locations capabilities.

You can schedule an appointment with the family members primary care provider and/or specialists and have them review your current enrollment to determine if there are any warranted changes or updates that could assist with an appeal.

Unfortunately not.  Capabilities can change on any given day and without notice.  This requires the EFMP office to conduct assessments based on current capabilities.
 

ACS EFMP can assist with a number of things that do not fall under medical.  They can assist with resource information, with Department of Education questions and issues, housing, with CYS services and Respite Care.

-TRICARE under the Extended Care Health Option (ECHO) https://tricare.mil/echo

A.  First, get to a safe place. If you are in need of urgent medical attention, call 911. If you are not injured, you still need medical assistance to protect your health. The medical treatment facility (MTF) offers you a safe and caring environment. To protect evidence, it is important that you do not shower, brush your teeth, put on make-up, eat, drink, or change your clothes until advised to do so. You or the MTF may report the crime to law enforcement, criminal investigation agencies, or to your chain of command. If you feel uncomfortable reporting the crime, consider calling a confidential counseling resource available to you.
Reporting Options: Restricted / Unrestricted.

A. As an Army Soldier, you should report immediately any activity that indicates a sexual assault may take place or has taken place.
You should also remember the following:

• Get assistance for the victim, but never leave the victim alone.
• Support the victim and show respect, but do not be overly protective.
• Demonstrate empathy by concentrating on helping your friend, fellow Soldier, or colleague.
• Listen to the victim and take the allegations seriously, without asking the victim for details.
• Do not make judgments about the victim or the alleged offender.
• Encourage the victim to report the crime; however, you should report the sexual assault to the proper authorities.
• Protect the victim's confidentiality by not discussing the assault with anyone, except the authorities.
• Repeat this message to the victim: You are not to blame. It is not your fault!

Remember: The safety of your fellow Soldiers, your unit, and your community may depend on your reporting of these incidents. You should report any suspicious behavior immediately.

A. The charter was to develop a prevention and response program for Soldiers. Currently the program is designed for Soldiers and adult Family members 18 years of age and older who are eligible for treatment in the military healthcare system. The program also provides limited services to DoD Civilians and their adult Family members 18 years of age or older who are eligible for treatment in a military healthcare system. OCONUS, limited SHARP services are provided to US citizen DoD contractor personnel when authorized to accompany the Armed Forces in a contingency operation.

A. Sexual assault can be reported at any time. Once CID or medical is notified of a sexual assault, the procedures are the same regardless of the amount of time since the assault. Soldiers should be encouraged to come forward as soon as possible, so that all possible evidence is collected and preserved before it is lost, destroyed or altered.

A. Yes. All military sex offenders must register with the state sex offender register and the installation provost marshal as required by federal and state statutes.

A. Commanders should consult with their servicing Office of the Staff Judge Advocate or other servicing Judge Advocate in making these determinations.
