Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP)

Description of Services

The Intensive Outpatient Program at DDHC is an integral part of the Behavioral Health mission to enhance Service Members psychological health and functioning, by providing an intensive treatment (group therapy and individual therapy) while maintaining the SM’s connection to their unit, family, and social supports. We set the standard for excellence for outpatient programs in the Pacific Region.

Behavioral Health Intensive Outpatient Program:

Eight week group that runs 8:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. Monday – Friday.
Referrals are made by an outpatient behavioral health provider and for Active Duty only.
Requires Command Approval.

Psychological Health Trauma Intensive Outpatients Program:

Eight week group that runs 8:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. Monday – Friday.
Referrals are made by an outpatient behavioral health provider and for Active Duty only.
Requires Command Approval.

Preparing for your visit:

Make sure you know where you are located ahead of time to avoid being late to your appointment. We recommend that you arrive at least 15 minutes before every appointment to answer questionnaires that are used for every single visit. It is also good to think about your goal for seeking care and discuss this goal with your provider in your first visit.

Q: How do I access IOP services?
A: Our services are by referral only. You must be referred to IOP by your established behavioral health provider.
Q: How long is the appointment?
A: Intake appointments can range anywhere from 60 minutes to 90 minutes. IOP groups run 0830-1230 Monday-Friday.
Q: How often can I see a provider?
A: The frequency of the appointment is daily for group modality and one to two individual sessions in the afternoon with a provider.
Q: Will my appointment be confidential?
A: All appointments are confidential except for instances where the providers are obligated by law to disclose certain information such as imminent danger to yourself or others. This is something that you can discuss with your provider in your first visit.
